The Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office provides many non- traditional services to the communities that we serve. We have a speakers bureau that can provide presentations on a variety of topics. We also are willing to formulate new programs and presentations on a request basis. You can click the e-mail links below to make a request for each category. Fire Prevention / Investigation Presentations are available for a variety of different groups. We have presented programs to the following groups:

Fire Prevention for all age groups from Kindergarten up to adult level.

Fire Service training for Arson Awareness, Fire Behavior, and basic cause and origin determination.

Fire Safety in the home, including smoke detector safety and exit drills.

Bomb Threat management and evacuation plans.

Alcohol, Drugs and Highway Safety F.A.I.R. (Fundamentals of Alcohol Intoxication Recognition) This program is for tavern / restaurant owners who serve alcohol and trains them in better recognizing intoxicated individuals.

Drug recognition for Parents and Guardians

Traffic / Highway Safety

Community Policing Presentations on Home Safety, Neighborhood Watch, Citizens Police Academy.

Presentations to local government officials about Community Policing philosophies and creation of local neighborhood programs. Law Enforcement activity reports for specific municipalities is also available.

Domestic Violence Topics

Safety Presentation for Halloween, Bicycles, and other topics.

Law Enforcement Careers "Career Day" presentations for all levels, as well as classroom/small group presentations regarding career opportunities in law enforcement.

Public Safety Day Displays/Presentations

Sex Offender Registry Presentations are available to groups regarding " Megan's Law" and the formation of the New York State Sex Offender Registry and who can obtain information from the Registry.
Department Tours Tours of the Sheriff's Office facilities are available by appointment to local groups.

 

In addition to the above listed programs, requests can be made for other programs to be developed as needs arise. Contact the Sheriff's Office well in advance of the desired date so that arrangements can be made to develop a presentation that meets the needs of your group!!!
